What happened to the last few weeks? To be honest, I have no idea. I’ll blame it on the nicer weather we’ve been having around here…FINALLY. I have a few knitting and felting projects to share, but in the meantime, here are some photos I took at the Macy’s flower show a few weeks back.

Because our first guy was doing so great, we decided to expand our collection with two more.

One problem – orchids are kitty magnets.

But I think we might have found a solution…

Things have gotten a little crazy around here lately and I’ve been slacking on keeping up with my posts. I had to take a step back today, though, and show you what an awesome week I had last week – two cool presents in one week!!
First up is an amazing Christmas present from my good friend Beckie. Check out this awesome purple capelet!

And it’s reversible!

Celeste approves as well. (Note: this was taking approximately .2 seconds after I opened the package.)

And rhymeswithfun‘s Ginger Kitty finally came home!

A cute kitty surrounded by yarn – totally meant for me!

Obviously, also a big hit with Celeste.

Thanks for adding to my great week, ladies!!

Yes, I have a shibori scarf as my desktop and a small hank of Manos Silk Blend hanging on my monitor.
Don’t judge me.
Lately, my purse has been overflowing into a second bag – books, knitting, work shoes, glasses case, camera…all getting a bit out of control. Most people would take that a sign to maybe sort through things and cut back a bit. Me? I just bought a bigger bag.

I found this guy at Target for $30 and it’s purple to boot!

Two big compartments with a zippered pouch in the middle, plus side inside pockets and another on the outside.

Regular purse stuff on one side, knitting goodies on the other and still room to spare!
Even though the 3D glasses gave me a headache, I still recommend checking out Coraline…if you’re over ten, that is. I couldn’t believe how many 4/5/6 year olds were there and it gets pretty dark by the end. The little ones sitting next to me were definitely a bit freaked out. Is it wrong of me to think that was karma for them talking through the entire first half of the movie??

We made funnel cakes tonight. Sooo good.

And check out the peanut gallery that came out to watch the fun.

It’s bad, I know. But at least it’s not coffee or pop, right? Right??

I always have such high hopes every January. New year, clean slate, all that jazz. I always think maybe this will be the year I keep my resolutions. Maybe this will be the year I remember what my resolutions even were two months from now…
Riiight.
So this year I’m changing things up. I read a great post earlier on CraftStylish about keeping track of “I Dids” rather than “To Dos.” I’ve found myself too often lately focusing on what I didn’t finish or get quite right rather than appreciating all that I have accomplished or at least the lessons learned in the process. I’m still going to set goals for myself, but I’m going to focus more on my achievements rather than what I’ve left to do. And I’m gonna keep a list. Right over there. –>
And speaking of lists, it wouldn’t feel like January without making some kind of New Year list. So here it is…
Things I May or May Not Attempt in 2009
- Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.
- Blog at least once a week.
- Keep track of Things I’ve Finished.
- Take at least one photo a day (M-F)
- Floss more.
Happy New Year!!
