Home, Happy & Heading to Bed
I arrived home last night after two great weeks in Shanghai. The combination of 24 hours of traveling and changing timezones, as always, has my internal clock thrown for a loop, but everything will straighten itself out eventually. And I’m hoping the 17 hours of sleep I got last night will pay off soon as well!
I had a fantastic time, but was exhausted most evenings so alas, I was not able to update E&P’s as I had hoped. Plus, the Internet was a bit unpredictable, to say the least. All in all, a great trip though. I’ll spare you the boring pictures of mill machinery (which I actually find fascinating), but here are some other highlights of the past two weeks:
The First Sock and Lisa’s crocheted scarf enjoy First Class luxury to Seattle.
Mount Rainier gives a breathtaking view
Angela and the First Sock share a moment in the Seoul airport
Chinglish karaoke makes me laugh
Incredible food
Lots of beautiful things to see at the Jade Temple
…including prayers and wishes everywhere
Bicycle parking lots
And some beautiful scenery outside the city limits (while stuck at a dead stop on the highway for an hour due to “fog”)
Unfortunately, extremely bumpy rides out to the factories was not the best for knitting (minus the fog break). After my umpteenth dropped stitch, I saved the knitting for plane rides and airport lounges. Alas, the First Sock was not completed, but I think with another hour or so, it’ll be done! (With help from Frances, of course!)
As for now, I’m heading off to bed again. Back to work bright and early! I just hope I can find some clean socks for tomorrow…
