Over the weekend I drove up to Coon Rapids to check out a new-to-me yarn store, All About Yarn.  It’s a great store with really friendly staff and lots of fun knitters to chat with.  I was on the hunt for yarn for Vivian and o w l s and despite the numerous temptations, I managed to stick to my shopping list and picked up some beautiful Berroco Comfort for Vivian in Copen Blue.

On my way back to the car, however, I noticed a cute little bead store in the same plaza.  There, I was not so good at sticking to my shopping list (maybe because I never had one for beads…).  I bought some beads, fixings, and a splurged a little on a beautiful painted metal pendant.  I had a great evening of playing with wire and pretty beads – hooray for instant gratification!

Last summer I made some felt beads that were instantly declared (much to my dismay) as instant Kitty Favorites.  Despite my efforts to hide them away until I could do something with them, they were always discovered and started showing up everywhere around the house.  The Canadian decided they looked like little pieces of sushi.  I gave up.

Today one mysteriously found it’s way into the water bowl.

The aftermath wasn’t pretty.

Good thing they still have 10 more hidden around here to keep them busy.
