Lately, my purse has been overflowing into a second bag – books, knitting, work shoes, glasses case, camera…all getting a bit out of control. Most people would take that a sign to maybe sort through things and cut back a bit. Me? I just bought a bigger bag.

I found this guy at Target for $30 and it’s purple to boot!

Two big compartments with a zippered pouch in the middle, plus side inside pockets and another on the outside.

Regular purse stuff on one side, knitting goodies on the other and still room to spare!
I was so close to finishing my second pair of fingerless gloves tonight, but alas, no such luck. I still have to finish the last thumb and weave in my ends. So close!

I probably could have finished earlier if I hadn’t taken time out this afternoon to bust out the sewing machine and whip up a much needed knitting needle case.

It’s already quickly filling up with all the stray needles strewn about this place. (These are just the ones I’ve found in my living room so far!) I’m going to try to fit all my DPNs in this one and possibly make a second for my straights and circulars. I’ll get these needles organized yet!

I’m thinking of sewing up a carrying/storage case for my DPNs that are scattered randomly around the house in odd places. (The Canadian has sat on his fair share stuck in the couch cushions – ouch!) I dug through my fabric stash and have narrowed it down to these two choices: a traditional Japanese floral or Alexander Henry’s Cutting A Rug. Which would you choose?

I say slim to none.
Despite the hours taken out of my evenings lately due to traffic delays (first the RNC, now downtown construction and bus detours), I have still tried to keep the creative spirit alive. Here are a few of my latest…

I finally finished up my second jellyfish, who left yesterday for his new home at my friend Angie’s house. She was a little down, and what better pick-me-up than a knit jellyfish?

Every morning for as long as I can remember I’ve wished for a way to easily see all my earrings at once. Digging gets so tiresome! Enter this post over at www.craftstylish.com. I bought a $10 frame at JoAnn’s and dug out an old pair of fishnets. I added the stash ribbon at the top and bottom for studs & posts, and plan to add some black hooks along the bottom for bracelets, watches, and necklaces. Perfection! Now to figure out where to hang it…
